Carrier combines the comfort you need with the economy and lasting durability you deserve. Carrier was the first to develop air conditioning as we know it today. Since the introduction of our first indoor comfort products back in the early 1900s, we’ve continued to lead the industry by providing reliable, effective systems for cooling, heating, indoor air quality and system control. The 48GS offers a rugged, durable package designed to provide gas heating and electric air conditioning, backed by the name with a long history of delivering trusted quality: Carrier.
A
Carrier 48GS is an indoor comfort value with its lasting durability and
economical operation. Starting with our Envirotuff™ corrosion-resistant
base pan and including our tough exterior cabinet, reliable compressor
and aluminized heat exchanger, this product is designed to withstand the
rigors of an outdoor installation. At the same time, it delivers economical
comfort with heating efficiency rated up to 80% AFUE (Annual Fuel Utilization
Efficiency) and cooling efficiency of 10 SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency
Ratio). When compared to the performance of an older system offering 65%
AFUE gas heating or 8 SEER cooling, you can expect to see a reduction
in your heating and cooling costs.

Carrier
has remained the industry leader by understanding that the difference
between a good product and an average one is in the details. That’s
why we made sure that air is discharged through the top of the unit to
protect surrounding flowers and shrubs on a ground installation. That’s
why we designed the rustproof base with a built-in drain to minimize standing
water for improved indoor air quality. And that’s why the mountings are
built in to accommodate both rooftop and ground-level installations. These
design details are typical of why Carrier has become the name of choice
for value-packed indoor comfort.
The 48GS “Envirotuff” base is made with a high-tech composite that
simply will not rust. This base protects both the unit and the installation
surface from rust-related deterioration and the potential cost involved
in premature replacement. The entire unit is built with corrosion-resistant
materials such as copper and aluminum to further enhance the lifetime
of the air conditioner. To ensure top reliability, Carrier also puts its
products to the test. Starting with the first design and continuing with
assembly line testing and run testing of completed units, we strive to
ensure that every packaged product we produce will provide the reliable
comfort you expect from Carrier. |
