The Carrier WeatherMaker® Two-Speed with Puron® refrigerant is like two heat pumps in one - a low-speed unit for every day heating and cooling, and a high-speed model for extreme weather conditions. This remarkable heat pump operates at low speed up to 75% to 80% of the time to maintain even, consistent temperatures throughout your home. The longer operating cycles create a more continuous flow of heated or cooled air while providing an extra level of comfort by controlling humidity during cooling operation. When additional comfort is required, the system automatically switches to high-speed operation to maintain a comfortable temperature in your home.

When combined with a Thermidistat™ Control and a variable-speed furnace or fan coil this unit can remove up to 25 gallons of water a day as compared to a standard heat pump that removes only 11 gallons. What this means is that your own bodies' evaporative cooling is more efficient, which allows you to feel more comfortable at a high temperature setting which in turn saves you money.

Two-speed technology allows you to fully enjoy the ultimate in cooling comfort with its exceptional energy efficiency. The WeatherMaker Two-Speed with Puron refrigerant can keep you cool while achieving up to 17.0 SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio) efficiency. During heating operation, this heat pump delivers up to 9.1 HSPF (Heating Seasonal Performance Factor) efficiency. That economy of operation has earned the EPA's Energy Star seal for high efficiency performance.

All of this comfort and efficiency is the result of Carrier's two-speed technology. Just set the thermostat to your desired temperature and relax with money-saving comfort.

This environmentally sound heat pump adds to your comfort by way of superior indoor air quality (IAQ). Because it operates at low speeds for longer periods of time, the WeatherMaker® Two-Speed with Puron® refrigerant indirectly provides greater air circulation throughout your home. Enhanced air circulation not only helps maintain a more consistent temperature, it also improves your indoor air quality because air passes through the system's filter for longer periods of time. With the addition of a high-efficiency Carrier air filter, this system can provide truly superior air filtration.

At Carrier, we also believe you should feel comfort, not hear it. Our Puron refrigerant systems have proven to be so quiet, many of our customers wonder if the unit is even operating. As an added measure, we incorporated our exclusive Silencer System into the design. By decreasing air turbulence within the heat pump, the Carrier Silencer System moves air smoothly and quietly through the unit. This system includes an efficient fan and fan motor that operate at low speed for continuous air movement. Sound is quieted further by the sound hood and compressor vibration isolator plate, which provide a buffer against noise generated by compressor operation. All of these features combine to make the WeatherMaker Two-Speed with Puron refrigerant one of the quietest heat pumps available.

Make the most of your comfort investment by choosing a product designed to last well into the future. With Puron refrigerant, this heat pump should last well beyond the practical usefulness of most standard, Freon®-22* systems. In addition, every Carrier product benefits from years of experience with product reliability and customer satisfaction. This heat pump continues that tradition, built with the most durable, high-performance components available.

The high-efficiency, two-speed compressor is designed for lasting performance and is protected by high and low pressure switches. The electronic control board includes special protection features to ensure long-lasting operation. And, the copper tube/aluminum fin coil efficiently transfers heat out of your home while resisting corrosion. From initial design to final assembly, thorough reliability testing ensures that every Carrier unit we make will pass the toughest test of all: your comfort.

Carrier knows how to build products that withstand the rigors of an outdoor installation, starting with our WeatherArmor™ III protection system. Designed specifically to keep your heat pump safe from corrosion and damage, this system offers three points of protection. First, the unit is surrounded by a protective cabinet made of heavy, galvanized steel. Then, we assemble the cabinet with ceramic-coated screws for corrosion resistance and long-lasting durability. Finally, we protect the outdoor coil with a heavy-duty wire guard, which prevents potentially damaging objects such as hail, debris, sticks and lawn equipment from reaching the coil surface. The WeatherMaker Two-Speed with Puron refrigerant delivers the ultimate in environmentally sound comfort, energy savings and lasting performance. It's exactly what you'd expect from Carrier, the leader in the industry.

Carrier's commitment to your comfort extends beyond the needs of today with innovative products designed to meet future environmental guidelines. According to the Clean Air Act of 1990, Freon®-22* and other refrigerants will be phased out of use in the near future. As a result, homeowners will soon have to turn to Puron® refrigerant to maintain their indoor comfort. That's why Carrier has been designing and testing heating and cooling equipment that uses Puron, a refrigerant approved by the EPA to replace Freon-22. In fact, Carrier has been offering Puron-based systems in homes like yours since 1996, developing a complete line of products using the world's first, long-term solution to ozone depletion. The Carrier WeatherMaker® Two-Speed with Puron refrigerant combines the benefits of our environmentally sound and extremely reliable Puron refrigerant products with the superior comfort of two-speed technology.

*Freon is a registered trademark of E.I. Dupont de Nemours & Co.

The WeatherMaker® Two-Speed with Puron refrigerant will save homeowners now with extra-high efficiency and in the future by avoiding the potentially high costs for servicing units with Freon-22. Historically, when a refrigerant has been phased out (for example, R-12 used in automobile air conditioners) the costs of servicing products using that refrigerant have risen dramatically. By choosing a new Carrier system with Puron refrigerant, you begin saving money right away and avoid the potentially higher service costs later.

Carrier products have always delivered excellent reliability, and our Puron refrigerant family of home comfort products has actually improved upon that record. Environmentally sound, energy efficient and extremely reliable, a Carrier WeatherMaker Two-Speed with Puron refrigerant provides the comfort you and your family deserve.

Carrier has been on the leading edge of the indoor comfort industry since 1902, when Willis Carrier invented what we now know as air conditioning.
Carrier scientists, engineers and dealers have built on that tradition by continuing to provide homeowners with the most advanced indoor comfort technology available. This technological advantage has enabled Carrier to customize systems for millions of homeowners nationwide.

Today, you can rely on your local Carrier dealer to evaluate your indoor comfort needs and suggest a customized system that best fits those precise requirements. By recommending the appropriate furnace, air conditioner, humidifier, air cleaner, ventilator, zoning system and controls, your Carrier dealer can deliver enhanced comfort while improving the efficiency of your indoor comfort system.
