As an independent, non-profit national organization
supported by a broad-based coalition of industry leaders,
NATE represents a shared commitment to improving the
HVAC/R industry through voluntary testing and certification.
NATE supporters include contractors, distributors, education
and training providers, manufacturers, technicians, utilities,
and their respective trade associations.
Testing organizations using NATE-approved proctors administer certification
tests nationwide, all year long.
To date in 2002, 66% of candidates have passed the new
NATE ACE test of their choice. This is because more candidates
are studying and reviewing the material before taking
the test. Scores of candidates who have taken a refresher
course or formal training classes are generally 7-13%
higher than those who have not.
Technicians who pass the NATE test have reviewed, studied,
and are familiar with the KATEs.
Vision:
Develop and promote excellence in the installation and service of HVAC equipment
and systems.
Mission:
To recognize high-quality industry technicians through voluntary testing and
certification.
